I competed in the Chicago marathon four times, winning in 2017 and finishing 2nd last year. Rupp commented about his involvement in this year’s show: “I am delighted to return to Chicago to speak at the Run Show Chicago. Galen has PR’s of 3:52 for the mile, 12:m, 26:44 for 10,000m, 59:47 for the half marathon and 2:06.07 for the marathon. He placed in the top 8 at the World Championships 8 times and won 11 USATF titles. Last year he took 2nd in the Chicago Marathon a few weeks after finishing 8th at the Olympic Games in Tokyo. At the marathon distance, he won the US Olympic Trials in 2016 & 2020, won the 2017 Chicago Marathon, won the 2018 Prague marathon and placed 2nd in the 2017 Boston marathon. He won silver in the 10,000m at the 2012 Olympic Games in London and bronze in the marathon at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio. ![]() Originally from Oregon, Rupp started his career setting records at high school, college, and senior levels and is widely recognised as one of the greatest American runners of all time. ![]() ![]() Rupp will join Olympic athlete, Carl Lewis, ultramarathoner Dean Karnazes, World record breaker, Jacky Hunt-Broersma, Mirna Valerio aka The Mirnavator and professional ultra-mountain runner Sally McRae as they speak to inspire and enthuse the running community in Chicago and neighbouring states. Galen Rupp, two-time Olympic medallist and inspirational American long-distance runner, will join the talented speaker line-up at the launch of the Run Show USA series, set to take place on June 4-5 at the DES Convention Center, Chicago.
